Wacky, Weird, Crusty crustaceans

Shrimp, lobsters, crabs, and barnacles are examples of crustaceans, a special sub-group of the animal phylum Arthropoda. Crustaceans are a diverse group of animals with a skeleton outside of their bodies called an exoskeleton. With a handful of exceptions, most crustaceans live in aquatic environments. In order to grow, many crustaceans must shed or molt their outer shell and hide until the new one hardens.
